Gut Job for Sound Performance...

No big updates yet as I had a family outing this weekend but did weigh it on a cheap bathroom scale and it comes out between 7-8 lbs of weight saving per muffler for anyone that cares.
BTW, I accidentally threw out the internals by mistake. If you look at the center tube, you'll want to cut that part out and reuse it in the exiting pipe of the gutted system if you are particular. The horn mouth will just smooth out the flow a bit and keep any weird air turbulence noises out. Basically just like it works in a subwoofer ports.

Hey Alp. Be careful MIG welding stainless with CO2/Argon. The fumes are actually very toxic. Make sure you use a good respirator. Wouldn't want to lose you here! I did a similar mod. Good job

Exactly what part is stainless?
Thanks 996pp for the vid. I initially only saw the Fister. The gutted one does sound good but as usual I'm left wanting stronger and forceful revs instead of a couple anemic ones.
Wonder if that guy is a member here?

Yes, however you maybe able to get away with using O2 extenders(the 90 degree versions) since yours is a '99 which some have been able to do in the past. It all depends on your version of ECU program as some are more finicky than others when checking Catalyst inefficiency tolerance. What makes you think they are clogged?

Im in the same boat as you Alp. Im tempted to do the gundo hack along with gutting the mufflers, maybe that will give the grumble of the low rpm and higher pitch on the higher side?????

I also have a 200cell x-pipe installed. Currently running B&B catback exhaust and the combo is LOVELY so not overly concerned if the gutted PSE mufflers sound like ****, I'll just toss them if so. I'll report back with video.

It may make more sense to first do gutted and see if you're happy with that before proceeding further.
