Default 996 & 997 rated most reliable 6 to 11 yr old cars - Magazine Autotest

Something I saw on the 996 Facebook group which this forum would appreciate:

Porsche 996 and 997 again voted the most reliable in 2015 test of cars 6 to 11 years of age. (Magazine Autotest)

see attachments.

On a related note Porsche is still at the top in JD Powers ranking as well...

I'm sure though these types of articles falls on deaf ears around here to the majority since peeps here are all about doom and gloom...

Specifically it says that an 11-year -old 911 is generally in better condition when tested than a 3year old Dacia Logan (the lowest priced car on the market there). It goes on to say that is due not just to the quality of the car but also the maintenance and care it receives, implying that a Porsche receives more than a Dacia which should be obvious. They're sort of damning it with faint praise there but then again, I assume the average Ferrari owner isn't skimping on maintenance either...

Would someone please message them and let them know the truth. We can't have real data interfering with perception

Hmmm. . . it's written in German and if you look closely at the names in the left margin, I think the authors' names are "M. Muller, T. Edig and W. Hatz".

I don't speaking German, but isn't that #1 for IMS failures?

Undoubtably lack of speed limit on the autoban is a major factor.

Most owners never go on a Porsche forum and don't hear or worry about anything, they just drive the car, and most of them go for years without any major problems. Am I wrong about this or do some of you agree?

I'm sure you are right. Unfortunately not my experience. I would have totally agreed with the reliability post if it was for the 986.
