Can adjustments be made so the secondary striker makes better contact. My solenoid seems to working. Inside safety handle activates it. Just can't a proper close.
If no adjustment cab be made does anyone know the appropriate part #?
I did have to open using the loop I placed in the tow hook opening
Any and all thoughts appreciated. Thx

Front lid latch on my Boxster is getting bad. The sill switch activates the solenoid and I hear the thing unlatch but the leading edge of the lid barely rises. I can just get my finger tips under the leading edge of the lid enough to work the safety catch and open the lid.

Closing the lid requires I put considerable force on the lid right where the latch is. If one pushes anywhere else this can bend the lid and could affect the latch function. (The lid can look a bit like a large potato chip under severe cases.)

The lid should never be slammed shut.

Anyhow, if there is an adjustment I'm not aware of any.

The techs tell me the latches wear out and they replace them when this happens. (My car has over 290K miles and both lids have had their struts replaced, they wore out to the point they would not support the lids.)

There might be some tiny bit of adjustment as the holes the fasteners fit into are larger in diameter than the fasteners (obviously) but adjusting the thing and making it better might be tricky. And you could make it worse. There might be the chance you make it so the cable pull doesn't work/open the lid latch.
