Swap Headlight Housing (litronic vs. halogen)
I have the painted headlight covers on my car. I'm afraid I'll damage the lenses/housings if I try to remove them. I have access to a set of halogen lights, but I have Litronics.
Is it possible to swap the housings? (Use the Halogen housing with my litronic setup?)
If so, how difficult?

It will be tough as it will require a full gut job, meaning you have to heat up and remove your lenses to swap over the guts. Not worth it.
Why can't you remove the headlight covers? Are they permanently on there?

Stuff like that is generally mounted with body tape - which is really bad-*** double-sided tape. I can't imagine mounting something to $2,000 headlights with a more permanent adhesive...
IMO you'd be better off buying a set of HID lights for the halogen fixtures and selling your HIDs...trying to stuff the guts of your Litronics into different housings sounds like it could go south 10 different ways.

I had a similar issue where my halogens came with covers so I decided to purchase Litronics. If I could do it again, I would have simply bought a set of halogen clears and upgraded them with the Carrera GT HID kit that you find by searching on here. You may want to look into that.

Yeah, those are sweet (the CGT kit). If I didn't have litronics, I'd go with those. I may someday sell my litronics and go with those anyway, since they are brighter than the Porsche lights...

Can you peek in between the covers and lense to see if in fact it is double sided tape? If it is, you may be able to use a product like Goo Gone to saturate the areas where the tape is and slowly start working from one side and prying it off as the Goo Gone does it's thing in weakening the adhesive.

I actually had a halogen in one of my liptronic lights in my track car when I bought it. I bought the inners of the liptronic assembly on eBay for $25, installed them and now I have 2 liptronic lights again.
The halogen bulb socket was RTV'd in the liptronic bulb holder and just wire to the power source in the assembly. It worked, but I am a perfectionist when it comes to my cars.
