Default What a store

Not really a 996 post, but was at daughters track meet today and on way home passed Summit Racing store. Decided to stop and get Rotors for the Excursion. Thought I was in auto store heaven. The place is the size of Wal-mart and just sells parts. Here is the 996 tie in. They have 3 isles of motor oil. I will say that again. 3 isles of just oil. They have the DT-40 on every weight. All the royal purples. And stuff I've never heard of. In 5w40. Or any weight you want.

They had multiple Summit racing cars on the walls. The real cars!

Row after row of cleaning/detailing supplies.

All this just 25 min from my house.

Every time I pass through McDonough, Ga on the way to our cabin in Blue Ridge I always swing by the Summit store. It's a gear head's paradise for sure. I always find something I never knew I needed.

Both Summit and Jegs still send out thick "printed" color catalogs the old school way. Great way to browse their offerings without having to fire up the electronics.

The desk where the guys look up parts has a computer for each. But they also have row after row of the hard copies all bound together like the autoparts stores had when I was a kid.

I live about 5 miles from the Summit in McDonough. It is a great place, but very limited on Porsche parts. What I do get there is my oil and filters though, they always have DT-40 in stock and the K&N filter. If you buy the oil by the case you get a 10% discount as well. They also have a Monday night car show, mostly American muscle cars, but lots of unusual cars show up, and its a different theme for every Monday of what make gets to park on the front row.
