Question air dynamics around the front tires

Hello all,
My 2001 996 was up on a lift having an oil change when I noticed that the plastic bits that deflect air around the front tires had become mangled and beaten by a decade of rocks and road debris.
Looks like an easy DIY to replace and the cost for the 4 little parts will run $100.

I don't mind spending the $ as long as the enhanced air effects and improved handling is something that can be appreciated at < 100 MPH!

Here are the part numbers and a link in case you wanted to see a picture.

Should I "invest" $100 ?

I believe those air dams are there to help create a low pressure area behind where the radiator air exits to encourage air flow through the radiators when the car is moving to reduce the amount of radiator fan run time.

This is beneficial at any speed.

There are also I think air deflectors to help route cool air to the front brake rotors.

I always renew any of these when they get damaged. Fortunately, they get damaged very very seldom.

any secrets to replacing air guide to fender liners? The diagram only shows one bolt for the air guides....is that all I need?

You will not notice ANY change by replacing or leaving them alone. The tires when spinning act as a huge air pump (that's why many race cars have louvers at the top of the fenders) and will suck the air out from the radiators. Also there is a huge amount for positive pressure in front of the radiators. Those rubber pieces are probably there for sustained high speed aerodynamics (autobahn speeds) that can only be noticed under extreme circumstances. If you concern is aerodynamic stability or radiator cooling, save your money and leave them alone.

Thank you for your post. From the other comments I wanted to make sure the air flow was functioning properly to keep things in good condition. I do love to power up but by no means autobahn speeds .
