clutch noise like a rusty gate (help)
Brief back story.
Have the car for 1 year. The clutch was fully replaced a couple of weeks after buying by the dealer (audi dealer)
The car went to porsche for the big 100k service some 6 months later, they told the noise was from the "receptor cylinder" (sry, dont know the englosh name).
They said all was greased up, the next day the noise was back.
Scheduled another appointment there and they said they need to fully replace the clutch. I dont believe it.
The noise.
At cold temp (for the transmission) only a small chirping can be heard while pressing on the pedal.
After about 30-40 mins drive the rusty noise starts. If the day is hot the noise seems to be louder and start sooner tan 30 mins drive.
Searched a lot on the net about it and havent seen anything like that.
Does any of you have any idea?
Here is the youtube vid of it, i am pressing the clutch at slow and fast rate after a ride.
Thanks
I got this after the official Porsche workshop in my town inserted new clutch kit, LN-IMSB, fallout bearing and RMS. I was told they had forgotten to grease the different points according to spec. Also some guy at the counter mentioned that the clutch engagement arm was mounted incorrectly so that the fallout bearing was engaging and disengaging unevenly. If you have had this kind of work done lately, go back to the shop and demand them fix it. This is a warrantable symptom of lack of grease.

Long story short, they didn't want to cover under warranty even tho the clutch started to fail a couple of days later.
I had to threaten then legally and even then I agreed to pay some for the parts, which they installed original ones.
After the problem continued after their install I took to Porsche and paid then to reopen the clutch, change the remission mount and also they found a non standard clamp in there (I supposed installed at Audi).
After all this work I took the car and after 1hr of driving the noise came back and i took right away to Porsche to complain, so I scheduled another appointment.
After 2 days there they told me that they need to replace the clutch.
I don't want to do the job myself I just want to really understand the problem and I think the link Arne posted is spot on.
I can't believe I'll have to reopen the clutch. Damnit.
Thanks a lot for your help.

That sucks, but you say there is hope ?

I started to notice some odd smell lately, dunno if it is related or not.
Like if something is burning, but not fire burning, not rubber, hard to explain.
I noticed a little bit of oil under the block on the drivers side just above the exhaust, the smell could be the heat from it.
I dunno, i'll take the car soon to recheck the clutch and if there is something more i'l just sell the car.
I'm agree on that buying an used sports cars can be costly but sometimes you just dont have luck with the car and a decision has to be done between keep spending money on it or just replace it.
Good luck with your car too

Not only for me but for others as well that might have the problem in the future.
But no problem if you dont, i'll send the car for repair again for the last time in a couple of months.
Cheers from Switzerland.
Similar experience.... once the car is warmed up it gets louder.
Thanks for your input.
When i said "receptor cylinder" i meant slave cylinder.
The slave cylinder was the thing that Porsche replaced to "fix" the problem.
I'll be checking the release arm.
@ Arne
Mine was like that, the rusty gate noise started after the new clutch.
@ Seneca
You are talking about the same kind of noise coming from the back outside of the car?
At some point i had some noise from the pedal, it was the spring helper. Once i replaced it, 'that noise' was gone.
Edit:
Stupid question.
Can the release arm be inspected without removing the clutch/trasmission ?
