Titty Sling
'I'm on a quest for something easy to use to protect my girls front end on track days. Typically I have used painters tape. This weekend I tried trakk wrap. Time consuming to install and no matter what I tried I ended up with air bubbles. Since this weekend was very wet the water got under the trakk wrap and it started to lift. As result debris would get trapped between the wrap and the paint. I obviously would prefer a clear bra but my front is no longer perfect so it seems silly to invest $1k. Has anyone tried a bra for track days? Do they do more damage than they prevent? Open to ideas.

Why not try 3M Paint Defender Film - comes out of a spray can. You can pick it up at auto zone or order online.

I have a bottle sitting in the garage -- was going to use on my front bumper after a re-spray, but have not done it yet.
I think if you add the wax as recommended prior to the spray, it will come off easily. You can find youtube videos on the web and they even did a demo on a motortrend/goss's garage episode a while back.
Actually looks like it will come off easier than clear-bra products.

Looks pretty slick. I had read in other places sometimes it comes off leaving chucks of material behind. Might give it go. Thanks for the suggestion.

Get some generic 3m, Hex, Avery clear vinyl roll from eBay and cut to size. You're only gonna use it at the track so it doesn't need to be perfect. That and a blow dryer should net you presentable results just make sure your there's no paint chips on your front end or else the wrap could peel more of it away upon removal.
Sorry i missed you also. Hopefully next time? Did you go out on Sunday? It was pouring in the morning and I decided to head to the track for the next 3 sessions and then saw the sever thunderstorm warnings and thought better of it.
It ended up being an awesome afternoon. Our groups last session at 3 was bone dry and I turned my fastest times ever at Roebling. Now, at 3:45 the bottom fell out and the weather got severe. They cancelled the rest of the day.
I drive through it on 95 headed back to FL. It was so bad, all traffic just completely stopped on the interstate. All in all a pretty fun weekend.

Is there more of a rock chip concern on the track than on the road? I drive on the road forever at 80MPH at least versus hitting an occasional 100MPH+ speed at the track a few times of year.
The tracks in North Texas have far superior surfaces surfaces to the roads.
So what's up with the special treatment? Sounds as useless as adding a fire extinguisher for DE. Are you guys running on paved tracks?
BTW When I first saw the corvettes with their blue painters tape I thought it was to hold them together. Not protect the paint. I remember thinking, "They're plastic, why don't they hold them together with glue".

For me it's not so much the rocks but the tire debris. My car comes home with the front bumper, hood and roof covered with rubber smears. Plus, the occasional off road excursion but that's a different story.
