LOL, only on rennlist...

All the aero bits on OP's car seems to be factory Porsche "OE" to me. How about that?

"Factory Aero" came in a few different combo's. Factory Aero "kit" came like the one shown in your pic. Point is if you look underneath all the parts, I'm willing to bet you would see factory part numbers.

With that said, it is a pet peeve of mine to have mk1 period correct skirts on a mk2 model, but as I understand it, some mk1 sideskirts did make it into mk2 cars from the factory.

That wing version also for purists would rather be seen on a vert.

Either way, OP has a sweet ride and I wish him luck in his sale.

Yes and no. If it didn't come in a Porsche box, it's aftermarket. There are different levels of aftermarket and OEM is supposed to be a high quality one.

Hey guys, first time poster, brilliant looking car!

I have a 2004 C2 with an AeroII kit on it and a few other go fast bits, no supercharger though!

Just wondering, did the C2s with a factory AeroII Kit come out of the factory without the rear wiper like the GT3?

I see the the OPs car doesn't have one

The rear wiper is a separate option that has nothing to do with whether your car was equipped with aero kit or not.

I deleted my rear wiper and front headlight washers for better aero. lol

Nice

Had thought the wiper delete was part of the aero kit package! That clears it up.

How did you plug the hole?

Thanks!

This is what I initially thought too and that's the way I see most of them that came with it from factory. However I have seen both MK1 and MK2 cars that had the "XAA" option code in the sticker under the hood yet had a rear wiper. Forgot to check whether the 425 rear wiper option was also listed on the sticker.

I plugged it using universal metal wiper delete plug like this one:

Bumperplugs.com also sells a plug but it is basically like a plastic cap and not as robust. You can also pick up a generic plug from Ace Hardware too.

Considering that the Supercharger kit runs around $10,000 last time I checked, I'm tempted to buy it, switch the SC onto my C4S, put its air box onto this vehicle, then put it back on the maker for $27k!
...but no. A bit too complicated.

Good luck with your sale. An attractive vehicle at an attractive price.

Another quick question, did the factory aero kit 2 have dual deck lid struts in the engine bay for the additional spoiler weight? I have seen some images with a 2nd strut or without the strut but the ball pin on the left side hinge and some without the pin or strut?

Thanks!

I've seen the same but I'm not sure if it was dealer/owner added or factory added. I do know that the aerokit spoilers is actually lighter IIRC than the stock decklid/spoiler/motor assembly.

Thats what I also thought as there is no motor in it. However the GT3 has a double strut set up. Interesting

I don't know, that face-to-face shot really makes the 997 look bloated compared to the 996.

Single owner 01 here. The Aerokit and Rear wiper delete were separate options on the build sheet. We checked both
