Default funky intermittent wiper

it must not rain much in Stuttgart...

The intermittent wiper (regardless of **** position - far left or far right) fires at exactly 1min 30 sec each and every time.

Is this a blown relay? or something else? Very odd and fairly useless to drive with a wiper clearing once every min and a half...

Has anyone had this problem and knows whats causing it?
Did a quick search - may have missed results. sry if so.

The **** is (probably - I haven't pulled mine out) a variable resistor/potentiometer. If it's not changing the wiper delay, make sure it's connected behind the dash, and if you can get to it, hit it with some electrical contact cleaner.

Edit:
Page 453 of the Essential Companion - If the windsheld wipers delay function fails, check the delay setting potentiometer, the intermittent wiper control relay, and the rain sensor (if installed).

The relay is located on relay panel #1.
