Default Loud noise at startup... immediately goes away?

My car has the exact same noise at start up after it sits awhile as the car in this video:

Is it lifters? Chain?
Fresh Mobil 1 0w-40 is in it... I'm probably going to change to 15w-50 pretty soon.

99' 6 spd 32k miles.

Thanks.

If I'm focused on the right sound, what I'm hearing may be the starter gear remaining engaged longer than it should.

You mean the noise @0:03s and the rattle @0:04s? I don't hear anything obvious after that. Checked your heat shields?

Same car, same noise, how do I know it? It's my car.

I have had that noise about 3y now, and I think that it's coming from the DMFW.
Rebuilded my engine 60k km's ago, and after that this noise was still there.
(rod bearing broke, so that was the reason rebuild/refreshing)

Normal.

My car engines make a similar noise when I leave then engine off a long time. The last time I heard this was from the Boxster's engine when I left it off for over 3 weeks when I was away.

If you want switch to 5w-50. This is not a typo for 15w-50!

If I am focused on the right sound. Both films they are using the acceleration pedal. A no no on start up.
