Default Orange Cap Mod

Anyone have a spare? I've done some research on the mod and seems like a nice way to get some extra sound out of our engines. Figured I would ask here before putting in a silicon hose and plugging the resonator hole with something (yes I know there are other ways to do it, but I'm not putting a shaving cream cap in my car) Obviously willing to pay for shipping and your trouble if someone is kind enough to send me one, PM me! Thanks!

I have the cap/hose posted in this thread (except hose is BLACK): https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...irbox-mod.html

I decided not to go with it (I live in NAZIfornia), willing to sell it for what I paid for it + shipping.

i found the company that made the orange cap last year, was able to order a sample for free and free shipping. google it. its a bit hard to find, as the company name and address changed. look for the part number, then google the part number. i'll try to look for it again.

I have the orange cap and silicone intake hose on my 99 996. Passes california emissions just fine. Put it on and go get it smogged.

Cpt-19 got delivered today. Simple install and definitely louder, best mod ever considering it was 100% free and took 2 minutes.

I got 4 delivered. Definitely noticeable sound improvement and seems to be running just fine. If anyone wants one, pm me and I'll mail it to you.

Just curious ... I managed to find the caps from the Niagara Plastics company (they changed names, and changed part #s). I should be able to send a freebie to someone once I get home and get them - I think they gleefully sent me at least 4.

Question, though: I have a Tiptronic car, and this is what my engine bay looks like:

Cap goes where the red circle is, and blue is the 'extra' hose, right? I read somewhere that later generation Tiptronic cars have additional piping which the orange cap mod doesn't close off, rendering it ineffective. Does mine look like one of those, or do I just plug the left part of the Y split and I'm good to go?

If you're retaining the stock OEM boot, then you don't need to go anything to the extra hose.
