Okay so I got my car back today from having my water pump, thermostat and serpentine belt replaced. All is in order except I just noticed my temperature gauge light on the red zone is blinking. the car is not overheating and my temperature gauge appears to be accurate. Any suggestions to what this may be?

You are low on coolant I think. Take a peak.

I did and I can't really tell the level all to well with this color tank, but I believe it is a little low. Going to ad distilled water to top it off tomorrow thank you!

Add the water but also drive around with burp valve up for a day. That will get the air bubbles out.

what would be the need if the system was properly bled? Just curious.

I'm thinking if they did it right your light wouldn't be flashing. You might want to take it back to them. They need to get it right.

I think Pete's point is that the system wasn't properly bled. This happened to me last year after a water pump/thermostat/serp belt replacement. System hadn't been fully bled and the light came on about halfway home. It took a fair amount more coolant, and I had to leave the burp valve up for a while to get the air out.

I will definitely take it back if adding a little distilled water doesn't fix it.

from my understanding if the coolant system isn't properly bled the cars heater will not work properly and mine does and also the car isn't over heating which is a symptom of not properly bled coolant systems? I think it's just a little low on coolant. I do not think the system isn't properly bled. I may be wrong.

Anyone have a picture of the burp valve? I just want to know just in case.

Does the valve have a picture of a guy burping?

It is the black unit behind the fill cap. Set the bail up, to break the vacuum as the engine cools after a drive, to allow it to bleed the air out.
