Ready for winter...almost
17's with Vredesteins installed, winter mats, and hard top. Ready for the snow. Except can't get drivers side bolt to lock. Any thought?
And handling is amazing. What a difference new shoes make. Was running worn out Hankooks on 18's. Car was squirmy and rough. Now drives like a dream. May stick with the 17's come spring.

What do you mean by "driver's side bolt"? Door lock?

Got it. I would like to buy a hard top for the turbo. I think...

Highly recommended. I was fortunate to find one on Craigslist last year. Makes the car quieter and more comfortable in the cold, as the hard top definitely holds in heat better than the soft top. Seems to add rigidity as well.

It seems like a great option. My only issue is that we can get "top down" weather in almost any month. I would hate to miss an opportunity to cruise with the top down in early February because I had a hard top installed...

Good luck finding a used top in Macadamia Brown though!

I'm thinking the same thing now that I just changed over. I took twice as long to get home tonight

My neighbor has a large Jeep with a hardtop, he rigged up a pulley over the Jeep's spot in the garage and can now install/remove the top within a few minutes just by himself. Should be even easier with the 911 hardtop. Just gotta keep a very firm hand on the controls, an accidental drop onto your car would be more painful that the extra "character" it would add to his Jeep.

Plenty of hoist systems for P-car hardtops if you want to change it from an easy two-person job into an easy one person job and have the top take up less space in the garage.
e.g. www.hoistlifts.com, manual lift for ~$120+ and electric for ~$240. Would be worth it to me to not having to pester the wife to help with car tasks... Probably less than five minutes to take it off if you get a nice set of days?
You can also build an electric one yourself for $100 and some change with a Harbor Freight electric hoist.

how does one remove the hard top? I looked in my owners manual and there was no mention of it. The car does look real nice with the hardtop on.
Dennis, you should definitely get it.

If you decide to buy, spend some time searching using searchtempest and the like. I have bought two for about 350 each in the correct colors. Regardless of what is asked, these things move slow. Don,t overspend.
