Default Testing DRL relay.

I have a DLR relay that does not appear to be working. Ie when I turn the ignition key no lights come on, they do come one when I turn them on manually.

So I took out the relay 996.615.111.00 is there a way to test it to see if it is broken for sure?

I have access to voltmeter so can check resistance.

Is it possible for a relay to go bad?

Yes, they can go bad. It's usually from arcing at the contacts causing pitting and carbon build up, blocking the flow of electrons. If the coil is functioning, you can usually revive them and get years more life by filing the contacts to a clean and smooth surface.
It would be fairly quick and easy to pop it open, clean the contacts and reinstall to test.
