David, I bought traded the 2.7t for the S6 in March of last year... have about 16k miles on the S6 now and am really enjoying it. Plenty of grunt for a wagon with decent handling for it's heft. I've had a deposit on an RS6 for many months, but I'm too happy with the wagon to go to a hot rod sedan... for the $ I can trade up my 99 C2 for a new C4S cab.

I love my 2002 allroad. I agree w/ the comment on the quality of the interior as it's extremely nice.
KLZ - nice A4 Avant! Initially, I was looking for a black Avant like yours. However, the local dealers here in SoCal didn't have them at the time so I opted for the allroad. It turned out for the better as the allroad is more spacious to hold my kids. But, I still love the look of the newer A4 Avants.

I had an '01 A6 2.7 Biturbo before my current '01 996TT. I absolutely loved the car. It had great looks, great power (considering the price and the fact that it's a sedan), and excellent craftsmanship compared to the 3 American cars I've owned. It was a very trouble free car for me. So why did I sell:
1. I could not find a dealer to provide me with a level of service I expect from a high-end German car (since most Audi dealers started as VW dealers).
2. The resale value absolutely tanked for no apparent reason (I lost nearly 40% in the 20 months I had the car).
3. My lease deal was setup for $720 a month payment, right before they came out with the $500/mo Audi-subsidized lease incentive (probably related to reason 2).
4. I really missed the feel of a sports car (I came out of a C5 Vette).
I would have another Audi in a heartbeat, as long as it had alot of POWER. I have driven the TT180 and the A4 1.8, and both of them feel like slugs compared to the A6 2.7T. I am sure that the RS6 rocks, but compared to the new E55, and considering its price, I don't think that Audi has the advantage it thinks it has. Now once they release their Turbo big-engine A8.....all I have to say is BMW & MB better look out.
