Alon, your idea is a good one I'm looking forward to your instructions. Have you done the blinking side marker lights hack yet? That definitely makes it easier to see if you've armed the alarm when you're walking away from the car.

My 2000 c2 horn beeps when I lock it! I triple checked that everything was secured and the alarm sets itself after flashing lights and beep!!!
Not sure how this is or why but I rely on the beep and it works. I am second owner so not sure what previous owner did to make it do this. I will ask my dealer service guy and post his answer.

Robert, do you have the original radio? If the radio was removed and not pushed all the way back, it will cause the beep because there is a switch behind it that is tied into the alarm system like the console lid.

OK, here's the follow up to this thread. I haven't done anything as of yet. I finally have my suspension and alignment sorted out perfectly and have been trying to get as much driving/track time in before the end of my driving season. Now that it's pretty much over, Im going to tackle this on Sunday. I am expecting a wiring schematic from a local dealer hopefully this afternoon and will see what I can come up with on Sunday. I'll post results once I know more.
