Can anyone tell me if part number 996.512.903.00 (rear cabriolet wing) is compatible with all 996 narrow body cars? My dealer is telling me that the wing is listed as 1998 to 2001 but he doesn't know why (other than a guess that the new wing is the GT3 style wing as a replacement). Does anyone know if this wing will work with all model year stock decklids as it is intended? I guess the correct question to ask is were there any changes to the rear decklid from 2002 and up model cars? If not, I don't see why the wing wouldn't work (epecially since I've seen 2002, 2003 cars with it).
Thanks,
Thanks,

In order for aerodynamic stability with the 996 Carrara rear wing Porsche did install a small wind deflector about 12" in under the front bumper. I would imagine that dealers have some sort of warning about welling the wing w/o this piece.
From what I can tell, the Carrara Rear Spoiler is the same for the Cab and Coupe. I believe these are the numbers for that assembly:
000.044.8-2-04: "Rear Spoiler 01-, comprising:"
996-512-903-00 Spoiler (1)
996-512-907-00 Flange (2)
996-631-980.00 Stoplamp (1)
996-504-980-00 Plug for original stoplamp (this may be included with the new stoplamp assembly listed above.)
There is no mention of the small front spoiler with this assembly.
I'm 99% sure these are the correct numbers. The PET catalog is very confusing as to pre-01 and 01 and beyond.
Maybe Loren can double check these numbers!

Carrera rear spoiler:
With Porsche Tequipment, you can now enhance the aerodynamic performance and race-bred lines of your 911 using components developed in the Porsche wind-tunnel. The Carrera rear spoiler, designed exclusively for all 911 Carrera models is a fixed-wing rear spoiler that replaces the standard electrically operated spoiler of both Coupé and Cabriolet. Package also includes a front lip for vehicles produced from August 2001 onwards.

Thanks for the information guys. I won't bother with the front aerodnamic piece as I will be installing a new GT3 nose. I picked up a wing yesterday (for a great deal) and am getting it painted as we speak. I should have my car sometime at the end of this week so hopefully the wing and nose will be ready to install.

I ended up getting as great deal on a Cabriolet Tequipment wing (as pictured in Viken's car above) but thank you for the offer. What Cup wing is it, the 1999-2000 GT3 wing as per my current car? Do you have pics that you can post? I have a friend who may be interested.
