Default I won a prize

At yesterday's PCA NW meet held adjacent to the Pacific Northwest Concours d'Elegance, my 2002 996 cab won 2nd place in the 1990-2014 models category. A pleasant surprise because although I had certainly spent time detailing, the interior leather and trim are not in the best shape.

THAT IS GORGEOUS and proves in real Porsche circles there's no anti 996 bias

Awesome! I'm sure you're proud of that. Clearly you take pretty good care of it.
So, are you going to become a Concours regular now?

Great to see that on a car that's actually driven!

The pictures don't actually show winning order. If I recall correctly, the winner was a 997 in an interesting espresso/brown colour. My car is definitely being driven: 4k miles since February. If interested, I keep this thread somewhat updated with what I've done to it. The paint is certainly not perfect. The front end is in good shape since it was reprayed this year but at some point I should get the rest done. The grey leather interior has seen better days with some cracks on the seats and wear on the steering wheel. The interior trim also needs some attention. There's nothing egregious though and I'm sure that the new wind deflector helped. Overall, I just did a thorough wash, clay bar and Griot's One-Step Sealant.
I'm not sure that I have it in me to be a concours regular - happy to show and shine but removing the clip on garage door opener and radar detector mount is about the only thing I'm willing to put away. I doubt I'll be winning any prizes in 15 years for a 996 with all original parts
It is a ticking time bomb though due to the original IMS. Don't look at the picture too much or it might break

Didn't want to mention the mk1 wheels on your mk2.

Mk1 wheels? But weren't non-hollow turbo twists available across the entire 996 run?
Congratulations, Bal! She's a beauty!

What's the difference? I have the build sheet so if I know what look for I could check.
I did make sure that Porsche crests were correctly aligned. Wouldn't want to get points deducted for that

Bal - looks like it was a fantastic day to be out and about and winning an award for your effort is a bonus. Your car looks great!
