I installed the GT3 console delete kit into my C2. The easiest way to do it is to remove the center console. Just find some directions on how replace the brake lever as that outlines how to remove the center console. I managed to do it without removing the center console... just required some twisting, busted knuckles, and a lot of cursing. It is a worthwhile upgrade if you are looking for more knee room and is on my must do list for the GT3. You can also get the kit from Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota.
Pay a couple of hours labor and have a tech do it, I would think all of that can be rerouted to blanks in the main dash.
Mine was simpler, have to say my favorite interior mod. They are nicer now, but on the '99 it seems obvious the original dash design concept didn't include that lower console. Look closely at Sentipede's picture, same depth, same finish, no accomodation for wiring, etc.
Sentipede, it's flattering to have the picture I took of my interior used as your example for the GT3 console delete. Guess I'll have to copyright it if I expect to receive any royalties.......
phattey,
I won't think so, looking at sentipede's pic, there is no place to put the DSP. I don't have DSP, so not sure if its worth it, but looks like you're going to have to choose...
The stereo is "rarely" even on. I'm kinda' a news guy anyway, NPR and stuff like that. After I bought the car, I realized the stereo was pretty crappy, thus news is all I want to tune into. As with most of my cars, I'd rather hear the sweet sound of the motor and exhaust note.
If it can be done, I defiently want to use the console delete...DSP and that stereo isn't a priority for me anyway.
