Flashing CEL -Advice need
'04 C2, 63k miles has sat in my extremely humid garage for past 10 day.
Started right up idled normal for minute or so. Went down driveway and CEL came on - immediately went back up drive and put back in garage when the flashing started. Odd smell also from exhaust. Hoping when this dampness goes away, back to normal - but my gut says no, & dealer is 120 miles away.
All thoughts on this are apreciated. Thx

The symptoms you describe sound somewhat like a bad coil pack, although the car will often idle poorly when a coil pack is bad due to misfires. Often times a coil or two are cracked and the symptoms become evident when moisture gets into the crack and causes a misfire. My guess would be that this is the situation and you need one or more coils replaced.

Like Kalashnikov said, a code reader would be helpful.

Altogether now: Get a code reader and read the codes.
My WAG is you'll find misfire codes. Chances are had you let the engine idle some it would have smoothed out and been ok except for the lingering CEL and codes.
But it is understandable that you were not inclined to do this and to shut off the engine first and ask questions later is the best course of action.
Both of my cars have misfired a few times over the years from the onset of high humidity.
The smell is probably from the converters. They can get off on the wrong foot chemically speaking and produce hydrogen sulfide (has an odor like rotten eggs). Misfires can only contribute to this off on the wrong foot business.
Anyhow, get a code reader and read the codes and post for comment.

Put my OBD 11 reader on today and fault was a misfire on # 4 cylinder. I am in the process of a move and my Bentley manual is at a different house. Can someone tell me which is cylinder # 4 and location? Thx
