Hi all,

I have a 1999 UK 996 C2. I want to swap out the old amber tail lights for a set of clear tail lights (halogen). I found set from a US car that i want to purchase however im not sure if they are compatible with my UK model? My understanding is the headlights of an EU/US model are not interchangeable, is this the case with the tail lights as well?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Headlights in the rest of europe are pointing to the right the same as the US.

I think our friend across the pond is talking about sidemarkers. If yes...then yup they are interchangeable .

so there is zero difference in the wiring between the US tail lights and UK tail lights?

 

The only thing that should be different is that the steering wheel is on the wrong side

 

The US doesn't utilize both rear fog light location but the OEM clear/red taillights already has a socket/ wiring already in place. Don't know if you need both to be working to pass MOT over there or not, but if you do, it's present.
