This is VERY cool and your wheels look great. Have you checked the wheel balance?

one word to wise...plastidip doesn't survive tire replacements if you dip up to the tire. If you dip just the middle and leave the lip factory, like the poster did, this is desirable and should last a while

I know this through experience...it simply will not make it unscathed.

Its a cool product, I just did it a few days ago, but after the lip material tore i decided forget it and bought different wheels. BTW I let the dip cure for 48 hours...so i feel like it had enough cure time. Maybe not ideal...but i talked to people with dips done weeks prior and theirs tore too...just fyi

Thanks Kelly. I haven't yet. Getting ready to do some prep for upcoming track days and will have it checked.

It's a pretty decent product to test the colors, but seriously I wouldn't do this for a permanent change.

I completely disagree. It's durable, looks good, is easily removed if you want to, and is actually easy to repair the finish yourself.

Yep no way around it...so you buy the "dissolver" they sell and smooth down the area that has started to peel from tire mount/dismount and touchup spray

I disagree. It's only durable as long as you don't get any break in the coating. Once an area is chipped or damaged in anyway, you gotta coat it or else the area around it will slowly lift over time. Ask me how I know...

I gave it a try but it wasn't for me for anything long term. I would rather spend the extra on paint, vinyl, or even hydrographics before doing plastidip again. I can certainly appreciate it on other people's cars or for short term temporary situations though.

Hydrographic example:

Nice finish, I can agree with you, the plastic dip items does not make for a clean look on wheels. There is no way you can compare to the quality of a good refinishing job.

To the naysayers, Jeep people having been offroading in dipped wheels for years and have not had any peeling. And it costs $37 to do all four wheels, so comparing it to the price of new wheels is ridiculous. And no, it does not look as good as a $700 wheel paint job, surprise, surprise.

Not sure what you consider offroading, but Plastidip has a pretty terrible reputation among "Jeep people." It doesn't do too well in the rocks or the gulches. Duplicolor wheel paint requires a little more prep, but would be the same money as Plastidip and is a whole lot more durable.

Gratuitous Jeep screen grab from my old Rubi...

My wheels painted for cheap..
