Anyone dealt with Porsche Land before in Chicago? Thinking of sending them my Engine for a Rebuild due to Scored Cylinder www.porsche-land.com

Let me know if anyone has any Feedback

Wait till Stuttgart finds out they are using that name. They'll be getting a C&D letter. LOL!

Since you have a scored cylinder are you doing 3.8 Nickies? Might as well as it includes new pistons, rings and cylinders.

I suspected this. Good on you. If you really want the Chicago area, we have other good shops too like Eurosport and Fischer. But they are busy now with all the club racing and DE's. Good luck.

Did you call Charles Navarro at L&N Engineering? He might have some rebuild shops to recemmend too.

Bought some parts from them and they work quite a bit on engines and quite a bit of race prepped cars. The guy used to be some rally mechanic or something from Europe. Husband and wife duo. Husbands more of a do'er and not really a people person. That's the reason why the wife handles most communication/customer service/sales. They're fairly new so hard to tell if their engines last or not.

FYI. I saw on another website that this place is liquidating their inventory. Proceed with caution.

Which website is this?

I do know for a fact that they are always selling tons of parts off crashed street and race cars on a regular basis. This is the other part of their business model.

Now if they are selling their tools, lifts, desks, chairs, that would be a different story.

from the 986forum.com web site. Here was their posting:

We are a Porsche repair shop located in Schaumburg, Il, we have hundreds of used parts for all Porsche models (Boxster, 911 996, 997).
Engine parts, interior, lines, electrical, mechanical, etc...
Everything must go, selling cheap, make your offer!
If you're interested in purchasing all of our parts, we can work out a package deal!
Come and visit in person or give us a call 773.431.9107!

I think the wording may be confusing. They are Polish with English as a second language. However, "all of our parts" does seem suspect.

Best way to know is to just clarify it with them with one simple phone call instead of assuming this or that.
