Hardtop Q
Its winter in Australia and its pouring with rain every day...
I'm going to put my hardtop onto my cab asap. Is there anything I should do before storing the soft top for an extended period of time?
I guess I should clean it and the rear window first? I don't want any stains on the fabric!
Anything else?
thanks

I live in Florida and rarely use my hardtop. I picked a hardtop take off to complete my car and use it for a few weeks a year (and I like the different look for a while). What I did was clean my top well, then place a soft (terry cloth) towel between the plastic window (if you have a pre-2002) fold. You can do this when the top is about half way open. I didn't want to give the plastic any opportunity to get fused together.
Chucksta, I found out what these pieces are for. Maybe you this already. I think they will help keep the contact between the car and the hardtop tight and rattle-free.
If you haven't done it before make sure that those pins are really locked in. I had one that didn't lock properly and it rattled.
There is also a TSB out on hardtop noise that you may want to investigate if yours does not fit properly or rattles.
