Different color decklid????
I was washing the 4s today. I looked at the engine decklid and it looked like it was a different shade of silver. I tried many different lights.
Color is different. Has a slight tone of beige in it.
Is it possible to have a car come from the factory with a slightly different colored decklid?

Assuming it is a new car, it is possible that it was damaged and repainted before delivery. If that is the case I would not hesitate to take it to the dealer and have it corrected.

I recently saw a white C4S at the Porsche World Road Show with its decklid appearing a slightly yellowish tinge compared to the rest of its body and had thought that the decklid was resprayed. Having investigated further, I read that the decklid on the C4S (unlike its other 911 brethrens) is made of fibreglass (or some other kind of material). Paint tends to show different shades on different surfaces after a while. This may be the reason.

My mistake, it is my engine decklid that shows the different color.
The paint looks the same (texture) it is the color that is off. Is this the part that is made out of some other material?

Mine is not a different colour but the finish is very slightly different. Alsmost looks like it isn't quite as shiny as it could be. It's still very good though. I wonder if engine heat has anything to do with it.
