GT2/GT3 Comparisons
I saw the first GT3 at the dealer this afternoon, sliver with natural grey interior.
It (based on the finger scale) sits about the same height of the ground as the GT2. There does seem to a little more space between the fender and the wheel than on the GT2, but remember I didn't have both side by side. Memory is a tricky thing. I'm sure Watt will get out the micrometer tomorrow.
The inside of this one had the carbon fiber package, so I didn't see the the GT3 insignia on the handbrake.
The yellow pads are pagids (also didn't have ceramic brakes)
What I found interesting was the tires, they are Michelin pilot sports N2, and they look like a cross between the NO on my GT2 and the the pilot sport cups. The outer tread block is much larger. For info purposes the Pilot sports on my 996 are N1. So we now have NO, N1 and N2. I'm going to rely on Viken for a technical explanation.
The car looks really good in silver, although I'm ambivalent about the rear spoiler, it pales in comparison to the GT2 or the TT.
Upon starting it up the sound was less throaty than my X51 with the sport exhaust, and the little I revved it didn't impress me sonically. However, this was not my car and I didn't rev it over 2000 RPM, If it's anything like the GT 3 cup car I heard on the track last week it will be awesome (at higher RPM).
All in all the car the car really looks good, understated except for the rear spoiler, which has a little bit of that "boy wonder" look.
Back to the tires, I want to know more about them, they really look special.

However, it doesn't sound anything like a Cup car, which has no muffler and sport cats. If you put a set of Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes on, then it would sound like a Cup car.
