Here are pics of my Fabspeed headers and muffler after they changed color on at Buttonwillow. I wish I had pics of before to show the nice chrome.

My Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes did the same thing after one day of track duty. Was bummed also because the chrome looked good. I asked my mechanic about it (paranoid that I was causing some sort of failure) and he said that this is common. The discoloration has appeared to stop after the initial "break-in".

Sorry to say, but they will eventually be completely "normal" looking - just like stainless steel with a bit of road dust over them. The good thing is, they will still sound GREAT (maybe even better) with time, and you'll always remember how they looked out of the box.

Just like squeaky brake pads, discolored calipers, chipped up wheels and a peppered front bumper, blue stainless steel pipes are beautiful in the eye of the track junkie. Wear them with pride.

This is normal. I like Jim's concept... be proud of your blue pipes, it proves you really drive the car.

Mine did the same thing. I tried and tried to polish them but no luck

The blued look is starting to grow on me.
Do non-tracked fabspeeds change too?
