GT, when I bought it at the salvage yard, I thought I was buying a grey car....it was dirty and covered with soot from an engine fire. I was surprised when I washed it. Depending on the light, it can change from grey to purple. At night it is almost black. It looks like an eggplant. It was featured on the cover of the first edition of Total 911 Magazine....http://www.total911.com/total-911-issue-one-for-sale/

It's funny you mentioned "eggplant", that's exactly what a graphics artist friend used to describe my car the day after I picked up my car, at the time I thought my car was Vesuvio, but later on I found the color was Viola Metallic from the color data plate in the trunk under the driver side liner.

If your car is in fact Vesuvio, then it's the only Vesuvio 996 I have ever read about!

Aviography, we enjoyed the Vesuvio car. My wife loved the tiptronic transmission. It was fun owning two 996s for a while. I think that your car is a nicer color. One of the many things that I love about 911s are all of the unique colors....you don't see too many purple Ferraris.
