Default Is an annual brake flush a must do?

I know annually is recommended by Porsche. Thoughts about coolant flush frequency. My car has 33k miles. Has had a brake flush about 18 months ago and I'm assuming a coolant flush in its lifetime.

Brake fluid interval is every 2 years. Not yearly.

Coolant, replace at the same time you replace the water pump. About every 4-6 years, depending on your risk tolerance level.

Porsche recommends changing the fluid every two years for normal driving. Most people who track their cars change it more frequently. The concern with brake fluid is that it is hydrophilic. If water gets into the fluid, it reduces braking efficiency and it can corrode brake components. This can happen even in a car that is just sitting in a garage.

You can change it every two years, or a good mechanic can analyze your brake fluid for water content and let you know if your fluid is okay or needs a change.

Good info. Thanks all.

I do use the brakes some. Mostly when I power brake for my launches. I'll have my guy check the fluid for water content and make a decision.

Better yet....it is an easy DIY. That way you can see what kind of damage you are doing with your launches....

Stand on brake, heal/toe gas to 6k rpm's and dump clutch. The car will actually explode. Very cool and fun to do. Just kidding.

What fluid is everyone using? I had planned to switch to blue fluid when I flushed the system to easily identify the new stuff, but that's no longer an option. I recently posted this chart in another thread:

I guess because of the ABS system, SL6 would be the preferred fluid?

For street driving, ATE TYP200 is more than good enough every few years. No problems with ABS and PSM.
