Put some Dawn dishwashing soap in there. Given age of the car I would replace every coolant hose.

Help with cylinder wall scoring
So the same cylinder with the crack in the head has some scoring along the walls. Should I be concerned with this. About to drive the head over for repairs but now if this cylinder is bad, I might need to rethink what to do. Other 2 look perfect.

Please post the complete picture of the exterior and interior. What else is broken on the car?
If non-running 996s are selling for $2,000.00 now, I am speechless. That is what people ask for non-running 944 and 924 cars. If your 996 has wheels, tail lights, and headlights you can already make money by selling those parts.
