Default Warranty ??

I'm looking at a 03 C4S with 27k miles the IMSB is original and he has a transferable warranty til 2016. Can I replace the bearing under warranty before it goes bad or wait til it's too late & is it even covered? Thanks for any help

This must be some aftermarket not worth the paper its written on warranties. Ca the warranty company and ask them if you can replace the bearing.

Personally, I doubt they would replace it proactively. Makes sense, but that's not the way an insurance company thinks. These really aren't warranties but insurance policies. "A promise to pay" assuming it qualifies. Good luck. Be cautious paying more for the car because of the policy.

Most warranty don't allow modifications to the engine which an aftermarket bearing upgrade may be classified as. Replacing it with an OE bearing should be allowed though. Also some lists only the covered components like this one
http://www.aaautowarranty.com/inters...ect-deluxe.asp
The list does not list an IMSB so it's safe to assume they won't cover the bearing and any other damage due to a failed bearing. You need to get the actual policy in writing to decipher what's covered and what's not.

Check the fine print, even if the bearing is covered. The warranty my Porsche dealership offered on non CPO cars had a limit of $4000 per visit. They are all ****, some bigger and smellier than others.

I figured on it not being covered. It's not really an issue on whether I buying it or not but a crappy warranty is better than nothing. It helps alittle. Thanks everyone

A crappy warranty is not better than nothing. Its can easily be worse tgan nothing because you whave to have the engine taken apart on your dime before they decide to pay or not. Be carful these warranties are money makers for used dealers and not much more. Read the policy instead of guessing or askng here what might be covered. Don't get duped into false security.
