Rain sensor switch?

Sorry if there has been a post for this. I was not able to find it.

Is the tiny switch on rain sensor unit simply an on/off switch for the rain sensor?

I believe that button dims the orientation light (LED). Pressing the button makes the light more dim or less dim.
