I have the leather covered front dash vents (both driver and passanger sides) and see the same thing around the circle area where the light switch is. I was wondering if I could get some sort if adhesive/glue and inject it between the leather and plastic. I've seen some glue products that do come in a syringe form with a fine tip.

But has it been stored that way since it was new? My Volvo did the same thing on the door panels. There was a problem with the glue that was used on the leather door panels, and age + heat caused it to loosen.

Can you use glue syringe to attach the loosen area back?

Taking the car into a upholstering firm seems like the wisest move as you suggest
