Default Floor Mat Topic

I have grey interior with black carpet floor mat. Doesn't look the best.

Anyone use Weathertec or Coco rubber mats?

I know Weathertec only has Non-Bose mats for 996.

Tell us what you have!

I use Porsche OE carpeted mats in the summer, in the same color as my carpet (Natural Brown). I use Weathertec mats in the winter, and they are for a Bose equipped car. They are black rubber. I think they look fine and they do a good job.

I use the aluminum track mats but Suncoast Porsche usually has some pretty good deals on mats if you want to stay OEM.

I've got grey interior with what looks like OE grey mats. I was wanting to preserve them & get some common use floor mats like Lloyd's & ran into the Bose or non-Bose question..... Not sure how to pick. Car has Bose speakers but stereo was changed to Kenwood DDX7015 with nav. There's a protrusion on the passenger side covered by carpeting. Is this the Bose OE location that would make a difference in the mat?

I use Weathertek mats in my F-150 but wouldn't in the Porsche. They're great but a little too utilitarian looking for a gem like my 996. Does anyone use Lloyd's mats ? I've used them in my Vettes & always found them attractive & durable. Not trying to hijack rxjohn's post, just share his interest.

I just installed a pair of Weathertech's floor mats in my '00 C2 and they are perfect. My interior is light grey and my new mats are light grey so they do not look too utilitarian IMO. For $60 bucks its worth it. They are not the liners but rather the mats. Give them a try b/c they really cover everything well.

I don't love the utilitarian look either, but it's nice to protect the carpets if you drive your car in the winter.

The protrusions on the doors in the coupe is for Bose speakers. I believe that cabs have a subwoofer on the passenger's side in the front, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

I have full natural leather w/black carpeting and I purchased the brown Cocomats to brighten up the interior. They are very well made and heavy and wear very well. Always was a fan of weathertec and have a set for the car, but wanted to lighten her up a bit.

My 2002 Targa has the Bose stereo but I don't see how it would interfere with any Weathertec floormat.

My winter mats are Lloyd Rubbertite. They aren't liners like the Weather Tech, but they protect the carpets pretty well from moderate amounts if snow or slush. The fit is good and the price was reasonable -- about 50 bucks for the front mats only.

My 40th AE has Natural gray carpet and mats but recently got Lloyd Ultimats in Black from Darin at Fister.Could not be happier with fit, retention and even the contrast looks better than the OEM ones.

I'll try an snap a picture later.

Default Coco Mats

My car is black with black interior. (Silver Accents). I got Coco Mats (sisal) in black with the white flecks or "... dots."

http://www.cocomats.com/files/12_blkwhtdot.jpg

They wear like iron and look really, really nice. Always get compliments when folks get in the car. They look classy, without being tacky. (You could always opt for a plain color as well).

As you probabably know from my other posts, my car has 215k miles on it. Daily driver for 7 years. Last year, the driver's mat finally wore through the sisal fiber to the rubber backing (which is thick and heavy duty) where I step into the car and pivot my right heel to sit down. The rubber heel pad (beneath the pedals) is showing some wear but still looks very nice.

When I emailed the company to see about replacement, he offered to sell me one mat, so I didn't have to buy a set.

Again, I drove my car daily and put far more wear and tear on the mats than probably 95% of Porsche owners. I've bought about 5 sets of their mats for various cars and cannot say enough good things about them.

JKC

PS By comparison, the factory mats that were on my car in 2006 (when it had 11k miles on the clock) already looked like crap and I threw them away.

First cupholders then floor mats, what is this forum turning into....

Next up, I'm awaiting the "what color to paint my caliper" thread.

Seriously though, these topics have been covered over and over and over previously if anyone searches any more...

Default Cocomats

Just purchased a set for my 2002 C2 Arctic Silver/Black interior. Went with the black with the grey dots. Nice heavy weave and adds some additional character. Good people to talk to as well.

I have some Weathertech rubber mats in some other cars. They do their job and are a perfect fit. Very practical.

And there's always the person who says "use the search." Well, I did as I'm not new to forums.

Would it be better to bump a thread from 3 years ago? If so, I will do that next time.

However, starting a new thread brings in new ideas and new products and garners interest. I happened to find the cupholder thread informative. And what's wrong with talking about caliper painting?

I know..start a thread on IMS or what type of oil...and there's always a person who posts "Not this s**t again" picture of Picard. Never fails. But seriously...if you're not interested in the topic, don't click on it.
