Default Front to rear wheels?

Following a truck who spilled lots of debris on the freeway. Damaged my rear wheel badly but tires are ok. Can I use a spare front wheel 8" wide to the rear wheel just to get home? Any issues I should look into? Will be ordering a new set of wheels later.

Newb here, but I believe that you are supposed to put the front tire on the rear and the donut on the front. Others with more experience will chime in.

Blrmkr is right, moving a front to the rear and putting the spare up front is the ideal method.

Good to know. Yikes ! Sorry for the accident.
I learned a long time ago as a motorcycle rider avoid all trucks at all times. Habit persists in my PCar.

My 2004 C4S came with a deflated donut spare and a cigarette lighter air pump. I had a rear tire flat last fall. I followed the directions in the manual and used the donut on the rear. I only drove it a couple of miles and also drove very easy and slow. No problem with the donut on the rear.

I was super impressed by the ease of use and the utility of that collapsible donut tire and pump! When I was done it deflated back to its original compressed format and is back in place under the hood. Great job by Porsche with that feature!!!
