Default Turbo cabriolet

From Auto Spies:

Porsche® Introduces First 911® Turbo Cabriolet In 14 Years

Porsche has announced it will produce the first 911 Turbo Cabriolet since 1989. Arriving at Porsche dealerships in the fall of this year, the 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet is based on the existing Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe, incorporating the Coupe's engine, body structure, four-wheel drive system, chassis, and suspension and brake systems
Power for the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet, transferred through either the manual six-speed or optional five-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine producing 415 (SAE) horsepower. It propels the car from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.3 seconds and to a top track speed of 189 mph (305 km/h).
Taking styling features from the 911 Turbo Coupe, the Cabriolet incorporates the Coupe's three large front air intake cooling scoops, intercooler air intakes in the rear side panels, and a rear spoiler that deploys at 75 mph (120 km/h) and retracts at 55 mph (80 km/h). As found on all current Porsche 911 Cabriolets, the Turbo Cabriolet is equipped with a power convertible top that raises or lowers in just 20 seconds. To maintain body stiffness, the 911 Turbo Cabriolet's structure is enhanced with reinforced side-sills featuring body panels and elements doubled in thickness, additional junction plates, and shaft reinforcements behind the B pillar.

You know Don, if they offered it when I bought my C4, I prolly woulda got it . I spent a bunch on the C4, it is loaded and I really like the car, but for the same price I coulda had a Turbo, which prolly would have held its value a bit better.

On the whole scheme of things I have probably bought my last Porsche. I have a really hard time parting with my "stuff", especially cars, so I will likely keep these for quite a while. With that in mind, I am betting my next purchase will broaden the fleet some more.

The current fleet includes an A6 Bi-turbo Quattro, a Tahoe, a Harley, two P-cars, a couple of sleds, a couple of quads and a whole host of tractor equipment for maintaining a farm I am the current tax payer custodian of.

Plus I am getting "older" now and maybe the E55 is the next upgrade to my "mature" image.

In any event, If you get up to Beantown and need to kill some time let me know, we can at least get a drink together. I am in the city during the week so as to be close to my gig.

Gretch, I forgot what you put on your C4??? I'm in the same boat. My 02 Cab is loaded with cosmetic stuff. Only other thing I have to do do is lower it a bit. I am waiting to see how the supercharger develops. I think this is my last one for awhile. The prices have gone down so much its disgusting.

We'll see what the 997/8 looks like tho. You never know!
