Congrats, and great looking car! Another vote for the winter driver, my snow tires went on Monday so I'm ready for anything.

Very nice car. I have been driving Porsches since 1967. Hopefully your experience keeps you driving them for at least another 40 years.

Thank you for all the welcoming messages. Yes I have read on this forum how great these cars can be in the winter, my main concern is what kind of beating the paint will take with the amount of gravel/sand they dump on the roads here. Even in the spring when the snow is all gone I still wait a few weeks for them to clean up the absurd amount of sand left over before I take out my motorcycle.

Remember that Ferdinand Porsche loved to see Porsches with petina.

My 40th AE was my first Porsche for me as well... seems to be a popular gateway Porsche! I can stare at the 40th all day long, it's the perfect 996 for me! Enjoy

Congrats on your 40 Jahre 911! I've added you to the 40th Anniversary 911 registry - you can see it using the link in my signature below. You may already know this but it looks like your car was previously owned by Rennlister snorth54 (in this post from earlier this year he says he has #1199 - https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...n-codes-2.html). If you haven't already done so, you should subscribe to that thread to keep up with 40th Anniversary talk. Lots of helpful stuff.

40AE - Sorry to resurrect an older posting. I was going to send you a PM but I can't seem to do that. If you don't mind please shoot me an email at 40jahre911@gmail.com. I'd like to get a few more details about your 40th for the Registry. Thanks.
