Meh.... I like the way they made em back before the before the waterpumpers, Virtually hand built. Huge difference in the quality. Might as well be the Audi factory...or Toyota.
Not saying Porsche does not make a great product, just that they used to make a better built one.

IMHO.

Whether built by hand or by robots, still the same attitude when it comes to design screw-ups, facing up to them and addressing the issues before the next model iteration.

The difference with more automation is you are now at risk of a higher defect outflow. You rely heavily on good quality inspection at the end of processes instead of multiple quality inspections throughout the process of building the car. Multiple inspections along the way by humans is the way to go for improved quality but automation helps build more cars. It's catch 22.

Having owned both old and new Porsches I think there are plusses and minuses for each. Quality control and consistency on new Porsche's is superior to the older cars. Some of the materials on the newer cars just don't hold up as well as the older which is partially cost savings and partially due to environmental reasons.

Still I prefer my newer Spyder over most of the older Porsches's, my opinion of course.
