hi,
im currently changing the gearbox oil on my 1999 C4, so far it has taken 2.8l and nothing has came out the fill hole yet, Car is sitting level. Should I keep filling or stop? 1999 C4 manual

When I changed my gear oil on my C2 I filled on level ground until the oil strated coming out the fill hole. Don't remember the quantity though.

I used 2.7l and it was just below the bottom of the hole with the gearbox out of the car and level.

Hi guys,
Put all 3l in and still no sign of it, All back together and seems fine, smoother shift. I have heard various volumes but im thinking if t was slightly low on the rear it would take more therefore maybe slightly over filled.

sounds like too much... are you positive you're using the right fill plug? Check diagram

Nominally 2.7ltrs, maybe if you just rebuilt it. Often starts to overflow the fill hole @~ 2.5ltrs.

isn't it like 3.5 liters when you include the dif volume?

fill it til it come out.
