Default P1130 After Engine Removal

Hello,

I just picked up my 2001 996 C2 today after being in the shop for about 3 weeks. It was brought to a well-known independent shop in the New Orleans area where I live. It was initally brought in for a CEL that indicated vario-cam issues on one of the banks. (Sorry, don't remember the code)

They ended up replacing the cam actuator, which required dropping the engine. Since they were going that far, I had them replace the IMS (with LN Egineering), the RMS and the AOS.

On the way back to my house (20 miles), the CEL came on again. Now it is indicating P1130. I have an ODB2 scanner, so I tried to reset the CEL, but it won't clear. My scanner tries to erase, but it comes right back as "1 Code" active. It doesn't even clear for a second, even with the engine off (key in On position).

Any ideas on what this could be? Does it make sense that the code won't clear, even when the engine is not running?

Thanks for the help.

P1130 - Oxygen sensing adaptation range 2 (cylinders 4-6) enrichment limit.

Fuel/Air mixture is so lean that the control is up to the enrichment limit.

Possible causes: air intake leak; fuel pressure too low; fuel injectors contaminated; fuel supply volume too low.

The failure condition is probably present right at the outset and the code comes right back even if it was just cleared.

Check for intake leaks. New AOS, but hey... a new one can be bad, or installed incorrectly, or damaged during installation.

The oil filler tube can be cracked. There can be an intake manifold air leak.

Unless the car's out of fuel, I'd say take the car back to the shop and let them sort this out.

^^ +1. They either failed to connect something, or broke something while performing the repairs.

Thanks for all the help.

The shop did come to my house to pick the car up today and they are looking into it. They looked at it this afternoon, and they didn't find anything obvious, but I was told they have a diagnostic "tree" they have to follow, so they will continue on it tomorrow.

I was hoping it would be something obvious to them, but it was apparently not.
