Default What is this "doodad" mounted in front of my right radiator?

I was washing up my 02 996 this weekend, and while cleaning the space in front of the right radiator, found this "sensor"? attached to a wire. It was hanging loose, and I clipped in back into a little mounting bracket that is obviously designed to hold it.
Is this a temp sensor (that I should know about, and be embarrassed to be asking about) or is it some part of a radar detector that maybe the previous owner had installed?

Looking forward to someone helping to solve this mystery for me.

Used, not only to "tell" you the OAT, but also a valued input to the climate control ECU

If/when you take the front off your car to clean between the rads and the condenser, that a great place to re route your frunk wire incase your battery goes flat and you need to open the lid. That's what I did and it works great. Same on the rear. I brought that one down by the muffler. I can open back and front from outside without the key. I have the 99 cab.

I thought it was there to prevent an IMSB failure.
