don't bother replacing them if you are going to continue to autocross. I haven't had them on my car (C4S) for years. Cooling is fine.

Thanks I was worried since the radiator bottom hoses are sort of exposed without them.

Those flexible rubber pieces aren't going to protect the hose. You'll have to fab up something to do that, which is what I did after busting a radiator at an event. The lower radiator hoses on the 4S/Turbo/GT2 is really exposed.

Is it because of the bumper design? Because I have that bumper it's a 40AE.

partially, yeah, your bumper is the same as mine...not sure about the radiators, but they are most likely the same as mine. C2's radiator hoses to the radiator have regular hose clamps, C4S/Turbo/GT2 radiators do not, they are like this, and are held in place with a metal wire clip:

hmmm I am pretty sure i have the metal wire clip kind. Is that metal bracket thing with the phillip's screws in it what you made to protect the hoses?
