So if no AT then it is a brand new ?
if no AT, then it is the ORIGINAL engine.
ALL replacement engines have the AT in the serial number.
The AT replacement engine is technically a rebuilt unit, but almost everything in it is new.

The serial number will be at the bottom of the engine block, just above the oil pan cover - see this picture from my engine:

Yes next to the exhaust manifold on the left side. Have the owner take a pic and send it to you.

Yes....of course...as I said..bottom of the engine block... bottom is well...at the bottom...so ask them to take a pic of the bottom of the engine block where the serial number is. show them this pic
