997 Shifter Installation Success (free 996 shifter)

on this topic, I have tried 3 set ups on my car
- stock 996 = way too sloppy, long throws
- B&M SSK = good throws but too notchy for my taste
- stock 997 = feel both tight and smooth, still a bit long throws but best compromise in my opinion
I have seen some gearbox side SSK for the 996, has anyone tried it?
