Cost to replace alternator?

Did not get core since I picked up the car so late. Shop said theyd have to add it to my bill...no thanks. Could have been voltage regulator, but I'll never know. I'd bet the Porsche dealer would have been in the same cost range...upsetting...
DE went fine until I rode around in a full on race M3. Got kinda nauseous...lost final 15 minutes in my session due to feeling light headed.

Was at Waterford with BMW club last Friday. I was ready to have a blast, then the Gatorade in my belly started sloshing around...I could nearly hear it over the 110 dB inside the race car...
