I have been looking at a couple of 2000 YM 996 Cab's.

Seems on one they have cup holders near the top of the stack and the other car has the HVAC controler at the top of the stack and no cup holders.

Is there a standard config and is it customizable, i.e. you can move the console components around to customize and add the cup holders?

My Y2K 996 did not come with cup holders and I don't believe any of them did. 2001 and later? I did install the twin pack cup holders and moved my HVAC controls down to the bottom slot. But, top slot is the factory position.

 

My 03 has them above all of the sensitive electronics. I bought two of these and use them.

My Y2k does have cup holders at the top of the stack. I am not the original owner so may have been added. Apparently Germans drink out of small containers as they don't provide much in the way of carrying ability. I always am reaching for my coffee on the way to work which is not a straight line from the coffee shop ;-).
