Congrats on your life. Your wife is the greatest thing in your life, over any car in the world.

I do not believe that the wheels are plasti-dip. Ferd said that he sanded down the original chrome finish and painted them.

Re: movie car
I responded to a notice that was in the Chicago PCA newsletter in early 2008 - the production crew for a movie was looking for 1992 Porsches in order to assemble a period-correct dealership. I thought that would be cool, so I submitted a picture of my 92 964 C4. I received a call a few days later from the transportation director, saying that the director, Steven Soderberg, had seen it and wanted it for the "hero car". He wanted to know if they could rent my car for a month or so of filming. The movie was The Informant, a true story about a whistle-blower on corporate price-fixing, and the main character Mark Whitacre would be played by Matt Damon. I had my concerns about my car being in a Matt Damon movie (thinking Bourne Identity chase scenes...), but was assured that nothing would happen to my car. What's the worst that could happen? They paid for the car to be fully detailed and sent a transport truck to pick it up and transport it to Decatur, IL for filming on location of the actual events of 1992. We were invited out for a day of filming and were there to see Oscar constructing the monstrosity on the front end of the car. We met Matt - nice guy - and asked him what he thought of the Porsche. "It's a great car, but they won't let me get it out of second gear." We hung out with the crew for the day and had dinner with them. Lots of fun. From that point, the Porsche went from "that car..." to "our car" in my wife's mind. I would routinely find her sniffing the driver seat cushion. They put a total of about 50 miles on the car. Detailed it again, and sent it home on a transport truck. I had another one of my cars in a movie - a 1931 Model A used in The Untouchables. The bad guy fell off a building and through the roof of the car. And it was parked outside the building that blew up at the start of the movie.

Whatever you do, keep the 964, FOREVER!

and, much better than the "Gone in 60 Seconds" Porsche car story.
