Default Looking for one Sumi HTRZ II 285/ 30-18

Hello all,

I am looking for just one of the Sumi HTRZ II 285/ 30-18s. Note that this is not the III- I need a single II. I have tried tirerack, onlinetires, discount tires and everyone I can think of locally here in Seattle.

Some of you may remember that I had a bad blowout two years ago on the Hood Canal Floating Bridge and replaced that tire in kind. Only about 4k later, the other tire has now suffered the same fate, although much less dramatic.

Any thoughts on finding one? I may just have to bite the bullet and replace both or the set.

Thanks!

TomF

my 2 cents: already had 2, best not to risk a 3rd blowout (which hopefully, will NOT be dramatic). FWIW, I am happy with Hankooks on mine.

I've had good luck finding one or two tires to match a set on ebay. Sometimes it takes a week or two to come up, but you can set up an automatic search on ebay for the exact tire you are looking for. Ebay will alert you when one is listed for sale. This works great when you have 3 tires that are reasonably good, like 50% tread wear left, and you don't want to buy a brand new tire to match it, but don't want to buy a whole new set. Most of the used tires on ebay will have from 50% to 90% tread remaining, and they are usually priced at about 30% of new price.

Replace both. HTRZII is minimum capable for a 996 anyway.

Hi Bill,

Not a problem. I may just pull the trigger and pick up a pair of HTRZ IIIs.

Thanks all,
TomF
