This appears to be a great mod but unfortunately I dragged my feet long enough that now this specific light is no longer available. Word from the vendor is a new and improved version is "on the way" but no ETA at this point....I'm searching for other options; tired of taking my eyes off the road to check RPM

Just as a FYI.
all the wires described in this excellent writeup, can be found in the back of the audio system for cleaner installation.
no need to risk punching the wrong wire on the ECU.

Fun fact: the tach on my Fiero GT came indexed from the factory so that redline is at 12 o'clock. They started doing that in 86 I believe.

It auto-dims, and you can also set the baseline brightness. Not an issue...

FYI, is a pretty old thread (over six years!)

The original Shift-i became unavailable quite some time ago, but has since been replaced with the Shift-P2 which has even more functionality...
